Community Works is a nonprofit

arts and education organization

founded in 1990 with the mission to bridge schools and communities, enrich educational curricula and celebrate neighborhood cultures and histories.

Collaborating with a diverse network of community-based artists and groups, we annually serve 200,000 people at 200 public schools, 60 neighborhood centers and cultural venues across New York City. We offer a rich continuum of educational and arts experiences including:

Live performances and presentations.

Workshops in a variety of art forms.

Exhibits honoring community history and culture.

Programming at the Dwyer Cultural Center, a multimedia destination dedicated to preserving, celebrating and documenting Harlem’s history and traditions.
