This study guide is a collection of activities and exercises that are designed for use in classrooms, youth groups or workshops where there is a commitment to thought-provoking education and to encouraging youth leadership. There are activities that can precede or follow a visit to The Long Walk to Freedom exhibit, as well as those that can be done as independent exercises to launch students on their own projects. With or without a visit to the exhibit, the historical and interactive approach of the activities promote an understanding of the positive, active role young people can play in shaping the social, cultural, and political landscape of their community through action and service.
