Latin Roots: Celebrating the Living History of New York City’s Latino Neighborhoods
The Mayor’s Office of Immigrant Affairs celebrates these exhibitions as part of Immigrant Heritage Week April 17 – April 23, 2009. LATIN ROOTS: WASHINGTON HEIGHTS/INWOOD Is a model intergenerational public art and education program that venerates Washington Heights’ and Inwood’s distinct cultural and historical importance. This living history program honors four local heroes through the lens of young people and includes a first-ever pictorial timeline on the neighborhoods’ history over the past 100 years.
